The Aston Martin Vanquish V12 is a much-loved model among modern enthusiasts and classic car collectors alike.
The car’s appearance in ‘Die Another Day’ secured its place in James Bond history and helped make it an instantly recognisable model.
Importantly, the Vanquish has undergone enormous engineering and design developments, many of which have formed the basis for the development of Aston Martin’s current model range.
It has an extruded aluminium and carbon fibre body, with extensive use of carbon fibre and composite materials throughout the car’s structure.
This extremely rigid and safe body was then clad with super-formed, hand-finished aluminium panels.
Under the hand-built bonnet is a version of Aston Martin’s V12 engine, which delivers its power through a 6-speed manual gearbox controlled by electro-hydraulic paddle shifting.
Building on the commercial success of the original Vanquish, the Vanquish S features an increase in engine power (from 460 bhp to 528 bhp) and revised gearbox ratios and rear axle.
Top speed has been estimated at over 320 km/h, making it one of the fastest Aston Martin road cars built at Newport Pagnell.
The model presented began its career as an Aston Martin press car to present the model to the European press.
Once this mission was completed, the car was sold to Germany, where it lived out its days in peace.
It was sold to a great enthusiast of the brand from Newport Pagnell in Luxembourg, who still owns it today.
Over the years, it has been fitted with a magnificent set of wheels created by the very famous London designer Kahn (the original wheels are with the car), and its pearly white paintwork with multiple reflections is of the most beautiful effect.
Our in-depth inspection revealed no major defects on this splendid Vanquish S, which has clocked up just 20,500 km since new.
The body panels are perfectly aligned and show no waviness, and the engine, gearbox, brakes and running gear all passed our tests with flying colours.
Over the years, the Vanqush S has become a legendary model from the days when the power of a naturally-aspirated engine didn’t need the help of a turbocharger…
Its low mileage makes it a rare and desirable model.
The Vanquish S is still affordable, but for how long?
